Requesting a Rescore
There is no rescoring service for the multiple-choice portion of the NES tests.
All constructed-response items are scored according to standardized procedures. Scorers with relevant professional backgrounds are oriented to these procedures and are carefully monitored during scoring sessions. As part of the scoring process all constructed-response items are scored by at least two scorers and therefore have essentially already been rescored.
However, if you wish to have your constructed response(s) to the Essential Academic Skills Subtest II: Writing, the Assessment of Professional Knowledge: Elementary, or the Assessment of Professional Knowledge: Secondary tests reevaluated, you may request a rescore of this section of your test. There is a fee of $55 per test for this service.
There is no rescoring service for the constructed-response section of the NES World Language tests.
To request a rescore. A request for rescoring must be made in writing and must include your name, the last five digits of your social security number, the test date, and the test name. Mail your request and payment to Evaluation Systems.
Payment must be made by personal check, cashier's check, or money order. Your written request and the correct payment must be postmarked within three months of your score report date.
Resolution. In the event that the rescoring process results in a score alteration, you will be issued a corrected score report, the rescoring fee will be refunded, and your records will be updated. If the original score is confirmed, you will be sent a letter indicating that the score has been confirmed. In this case, your rescoring fee will not be refunded.
