The NES® for Colorado

The Colorado Department of Education has adopted the NES Chinese (Mandarin) test in fulfillment of the professional content competency requirement for a Chinese endorsement.

The NES is a nationally available teacher certification testing program. The NES teacher certification tests are comprehensive exams aligned to professionally accepted national learning standards, covering areas such as essential academic skills, reading instruction, and commonly taught elementary, middle, and secondary grade-level subjects.

All NES tests are 100% computer-based, offered at secure, professional testing centers located throughout the United States, its territories, and worldwide. A computer-based test design means access to tests by appointment, year round—examinees do not have to wait for an assigned date before testing in a specific field—and immediate score reporting for most results.

Colorado teacher candidates who plan to take a NES test register for the NES and schedule test appointments on this site. Candidates taking a Program for Licensing Assessments for Colorado Educators® (PLACE®) test register for those tests at Link opens in a new window.
